ABOUT THUNDERHANDS

About Me: "Wakiya" (Thunder)
I am a Tribal, Musician, Writer, Artist. I try to walk the path and have studied the tradition of the "Wisdom keepers" like Lame Deer, Fools Crow, Black Elk, and Rolling Thunder from the tribes of this region, and Lao Tzu, Buddha, Bodhidharma, Yeshua, and other enlightened ones from the many various tribes of the earth. I understand the worlds religions and belief systems, and realize the division this can cause by the lack of understanding the "real message" from the Masters. My intention, and life's prayer is to try to live in harmony with Grandmother Earth, Grandfather sky, (Nature) and "the spirit that moves in all things," and help in any way I can to build a bridge between all men and tribes so they can walk their path in a manner that will benefit themselves, the Earth and others. I open up, and ask Great Spirit, The creator, The Tao, The Universe, to work and direct healing and positive energy through me by different means, like the Flute, drums, Words, Prayer, and Touch. I try to be loving and accept others from the heart, and practice forgiveness. I honor all people, the winged one's, and four legged ones considering us all equal, not one being above another. I honor the bountiful Harvest from Mother earth in the form of plant life, water, air and herbs which sustain our oneness with her. I pray all tribes should re-unite as one, so we may protect the planet and live in harmony. Within you, without you.

Lei Gong "Thunder God"

Chinese characters for thunder God

Lei Kung

"Thunder being"

I see great similarities between the Taoist thunder god and thunder beings or thunder birds of the native American tradition. Thunder beings or thunder birds (wakinyan ) have electric energy which cleanses and destroys. -thunderhands

From wikipidia
In Chinese mythology, Lei Gong (Chinese: “Duke of Thunder”), also called Lei Shen (“Thunder God”), is the Chinese Taoist deity who, when so ordered by heaven, punishes both earthly mortals guilty of secret crimes and evil spirits who have used their knowledge of Taoism to harm human beings. Lei Gong carries a drum and mallet to produce thunder and a chisel to punish evildoers.

Lei Gong is depicted as a fearsome creature with claws, bat wings, and a blue face with a bird's beak and wears only a loincloth. Temples dedicated to him are rare, but some persons do him special honor in the hope that he will take revenge on their personal enemies.

Since Lei Gong's specialty is thunder, he has assistants capable of producing other types of heavenly phenomena. Tian-mu (“Mother of Lightning”), for example, uses flashing mirrors to send bolts of lightning across the sky. Yun Tong (“Cloud Youth”) whips up clouds, and Yu-zi (“Rain Master”) causes downpours by dipping his sword into a pot. Roaring winds rush forth from a type of goatskin bag manipulated by Feng Bo (“Earl of Wind”), who was later transformed into Feng Po Po (“Madame Wind”). She rides a tiger among the clouds.

Lei Gong began life as a mortal. He encountered a peach tree that had come from Heaven, due to the struggle between the Fox Demon and one of the Celestial Warriors, and had become evil. When Lei Gong took a bite out of one of its peaches, he was turned into a human with bird wings. He soon received a mace and a hammer that could can create thunder. This is how he became the God of Thunder. Lei Gong is said to be extremely prudish, and will not enter a house where copulation is taking place. Pictures of this act are also supposed to have the same effect. He rides a chariot driven by A Xiang.

The worship of thunder is the originally Chinese native religion inline with its mystical connection to its river worship civilisation and dragon kings and the yellow Emperor worship of rain-making to live in harmony with nature and long term and peace and prosperity on earth . However, I disagree with you that the tao is the great creator of the universe as Chinese shahmanism and nature worship of the yin and yang of the xia, shang, Zhou, warring states and han pre-dates the philosophies of Lao zi and Confucious . And may I say that thunder worship with the vulture is not confined to red native American Indian and Chinese. Its roots is common with all primitive religions - Tibetan, Mongolian , Greek , Sumerian, Souther-american and pre celtic Christian Wicca and Norwegian . It is the Scottish galiec worship of thunder that we get the Scottish calvinism of absolute predestination and salvation of election by grace and blessings by natural and supernatural providences as thunder can strike anyone at anytime with natural calamites and its gracious providences alike and the same is the lodge of white eagles with its American Indian spirituality of descedants of the Jews as God's chosen race . It is also from the Celtic Swedish worship of thunder that we get the hymn How great thou art . Rare are the people like us who know the mysteries of these ancient paths so there is a lot to work on still .
