I'll start this off by showing a review, and then give some general comment:
Review:
"Michael Sheehan has worked on terrorism as a policy maker in the State Department, as a police official on the streets of New York, and as a Green Beret in the US Army. He is the real deal. In Crush the Cell he tells us the difference between the continuing real threat from AL Qaeda and the over-hyped, politically motivated scare tactics that have spawned a bloated counter-terrorism bureaucracy and industry."—Richard A. Clarke, author of the #1 New York Times bestseller Against All Enemies.
My comment:
First let me preface my comments by saying that I have not read this book, so I can not comment on the contents. It is on my book list. I have read the reviews, and viewed an interview with this man that is on the cutting edge of the concept of terrorism. Having said that, his book seems to confirm thoughts that I have had for a long time, and that is, that the Government has over hyped a threat that has put the general public in fear since that day on 9/11. Why this is done, (and these are my own thoughts) has a lot to do with some agenda, obvious, or hidden that our government is engaged in.
The obvious one would be to perpetuate a war, government policy, and or a political agenda. The hidden one is something to chilling to discuss, without it being pure speculation at this point. I have written earlier on the need to ignore the government and media hype on this and other issues. At what point do the protectors of the American people against this so-called war on terror, become terrorists themselves. Striking undue fear into the hearts and minds of a citizenry that are experiencing some of the toughest times in recent history, is nothing short of criminal. If they will lie or stretch the truth about such an important issue as this, what other lies are being propagated. That's why the concept of detachment is in order here. The old saying believe half of what you see, and little of what you hear, is a different and old fashion way of saying the same thing. Statements come out daily about a whole host of subjects concerning whats good for you, and what isn't, and changed just as quickly.
Chaos (see I-ching) seems to be reigning at the present time. So sit back detach, center yourself in the universe and look at the whole thing as an illusion, and the whirlwind of duality. Don't stress, and remain in a quiet and still place, through meditation. A good formula for dealing with our times is stay comfortable, relaxed and passive. Focus on the "Tao" or spiritual matters, and walk with the sage, or your higher self. This will automatically disperse fear, negativity, and all the thoughts and manifestations that go along with these emotions. And one other thing, project love from the heart, to the planet and all of humanity.
