Tate (Ta TAY) the Wind, is the Messenger of Skan, Lakota God of the sky or the Supreme authority. Sometimes tate is sent to stir things up and plant new seeds. Tate can also be associated with storms and thunder which have been discussed earlier (see Archives) on this blog. Tate is something that you can't see, but the effects are felt. Try standing on a bluff and let the wind clean your aura, by feeling it blowing through your body and blowing away all the stress and negativity. Tate is what is blown through the flute, and is expressed or manifested in a musical form to soothe the soul. The next time you feel the wind gently blowing across you face think of Great Spirit.
Of course the wind can be powerful as in a thunderstorm or tornado. That's why its so important to live in tune with nature, and(Maka) Mother earth
