Holman Hunts famous painting "The Light of the World"

Jesus, crowned with thorns and carrying a lantern, stands outside at night, knocking on a closed door that is covered with weeds. Holman Hunt's famous painting is full of symbolism. "Listen! I am standing and knocking at your door. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and we will eat together."
There is a saying "The incarnate lord is the host of the one you can't see. You cannot move the palm of your hand without moving the back of your hand at the same time."
We have to choose to open the door to the light or enlightenment. No matter what your beliefs, Christian, Buddhist, Spiritual Seeker, or believer in Great Spirit. This picture is stirring and stands as a metaphor for allowing ourselves to open up the door so that we may realize our own divinity and oneness with spirit. Remember, Qoute: "the handle of the door to you is on your side."
Jesus often spoke of the light that shines within, and the kingdom that is within. Other great masters were of the same spirit. Buddha means "Awakened Mind." When the student is ready the master appears. What form the master takes and when could be a surprise, just be ready. Being ready means ridding yourself of preconceived notions and dogma. Clearing the mind (mushin) or having a child's mind is like Clearing the weeds and opening the door for spirit to activate your light.
