ABOUT THUNDERHANDS

About Me: "Wakiya" (Thunder)
I am a Tribal, Musician, Writer, Artist. I try to walk the path and have studied the tradition of the "Wisdom keepers" like Lame Deer, Fools Crow, Black Elk, and Rolling Thunder from the tribes of this region, and Lao Tzu, Buddha, Bodhidharma, Yeshua, and other enlightened ones from the many various tribes of the earth. I understand the worlds religions and belief systems, and realize the division this can cause by the lack of understanding the "real message" from the Masters. My intention, and life's prayer is to try to live in harmony with Grandmother Earth, Grandfather sky, (Nature) and "the spirit that moves in all things," and help in any way I can to build a bridge between all men and tribes so they can walk their path in a manner that will benefit themselves, the Earth and others. I open up, and ask Great Spirit, The creator, The Tao, The Universe, to work and direct healing and positive energy through me by different means, like the Flute, drums, Words, Prayer, and Touch. I try to be loving and accept others from the heart, and practice forgiveness. I honor all people, the winged one's, and four legged ones considering us all equal, not one being above another. I honor the bountiful Harvest from Mother earth in the form of plant life, water, air and herbs which sustain our oneness with her. I pray all tribes should re-unite as one, so we may protect the planet and live in harmony. Within you, without you.

Animal Totems

Do you know your animal totem? If you want to enhance your relationship with great spirit or the spirit that moves in all things, it might be a good idea to identify your totem. The further we get away from nature and our past connection with our shamanistic origins, the less we feel our connection. This is a sad loss for many reasons. Our totem can give us the power we need to overcome obstacles presented to us in this journey we call life. Anyone who owns a domestic animal will testify to the healing properties and love that they can impart to us. What animals do you identify with, dream about, or see on a regular basis? This could well be your totem. Each animal has a gift for you, so it would be beneficial to study the habits, and spiritual properties of your totem or any animal or beast in the natural realm.
Spirit will appear, talk to and guide you on your path through various animals. Go to the park, forest or natural area and make note of the four leggeds or winged ones that come into your view. Even a lizard on a rock is speaking to you. You can talk to them in a soft kind voice and they will respond, with a healing or direction for you to take. Meditate and ask that your totem come to you. Ask great spirit to reveal them to you. You can have more then one totem. One of the sky and one of the earth, or more then one of each. One to help you in any circumstance in life. I was once doing a meditation, and my feet got cold. Much to my amazement a bear appeared and laid in a fetal position around my feet sending warm energy and love through my whole body.

I immediately realized that this was a totem animal that had been present in my life before, and as I opened my eyes I glanced at the Zuni bear fetish on my shelf that I had not been paying attention to. That night I put it next to my bed and thanked great spirit for reawakening my relationship with this powerful and yet loving animal. I will write more on this in later posts as well as featuring various animal totems.

Awe...very nice! This post is a beautiful, gentle reminder for us to pay attention! So..thank you!

I absolutely feel the healing power of my totem. I was a little concerned though when I learned the average lifespan of my totem was 18 hours..(or something like that!)... : ) Regardless...I always know things are going to be okay when I see Dragonfly!

Now....when I woke up to 1000's of ants marching through my kitchen....was that a sign? My medicine cards say ant medicine brings 'patience'....so when there were 1000's of them I'm thinking they were really trying to get my attention. Patience is a virtue! Yikes! I'm working on it!

As always ... a pleasure to share in your wisdom, your visions, and your love for the spirit that moves through all things!

Blessings to you my friend~
