I went to the park today with the intention of seeing if the sick rabbit I found the other day was OK! I had done a little feather ritual on it the day before. He was gone so he either is ok, or crawled away somewhere! Hopefully he is healed. As I was sitting in my sacred space in the thick foliage, something directed my steps up the hill. I heard drums in the distance. Am I having a vision? I started to walk toward the sounds, and as I got closer I saw that it was a drum circle with at least 10 to 12 drummers. All kinds of people with various drums. I had my staff and walked closer in. I started chanting and pounding my staff on the ground. I got good vibes so I chanted louder "Mitakuye Oyasin. Hi ye yoh hey yoh hey hey!" The vibe picked up. There was a drum sitting on the edge of the circle. I gravitated toward it. It was huge! it was a thunder drum! It was 4 ft tall by at least 12 to 13 inches wide. It looked African! A fellow close by, told me to play it. I fell into the cacophony of rhythms. I laid done a tribal riff using my left hand with clenched fist (boom) and my right open palm slapping in alternate strokes. The ground was literally shaking. I increased my chanting and playing. The drummers were all one with me increasing the rhythm to a fever pitch. I knew none of these people, but yet I knew them all...They were all my relations, There were women, children, Anglos, hippies, Hispanic, native American, old, young and a guy in a wheel chair. There were all kinds of drums, rattles, and shakers. The more I chanted the more the excitement rose. People were going tribal, women, children and men were dancing in the middle. I played for two maybe three hours full on. As I left one of the lead drummers shook my hand and said what's your name, I'm Thunderhands, some call me Roger. He had a big smile, and said come back next Sunday. I am exhausted!!...I floated home. As I was walking home two hawks flew overhead. When I got home I threw the I-ching (Chinese oracle) and it came up with two hexagrams. Number two "The Creative" and number eight "holding together" or "creating union with others." Does it get better then this?....I have to blog this! This is a true story! Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent. (laughs) Feb 22?... 22 is my numerological number. 22/4
